Too Early to Buy Jarred Kelenic? Top 5 Hottest Sports Cards

This week’s Top 5 Hottest Sports Cards is led by one of MLB’s top prospects and a rookie point guard who could see some big minutes as part of the Philadelphia 76ers playoff rotation.

Here’s a glance at this week’s Top 5:

5. Andrew Wiggins

The former No. 1 overall pick has had a rough start to his career when you consider his expectations, but Wiggins has played a key role in getting Golden State into the play-in tournament.

Despite Stephen A. Smith saying he’d give the forward away for a box of cookies recently, Wiggins has put up career-best shooting stats in 2021 while hitting 48% of his shots from the floor and 38% from 3.

Wiggins’ 2014 Prizm Base PSA 10 is up 65% over the last 30 days.

4. Carlos Correa

After starting off the season with a .303 batting average and four home runs in April, Correa has slumped hard in May. He’s a free agent after this season, though, so some collectors have been grabbing him early anticipating a monster contract this offseason.

Despite the slump, Correa’s 2015 Topps Update Base PSA 10 is up 210% over the last 30 days.

3. Jack Flaherty

After a rough 2020, Flaherty has returned to form with a stellar 2021 so far. Flaherty is 7-0 with a 2.47 ERA and 48 strikeouts in just 47.1 innings, as of Tuesday.

He’s looking like an ace again, and his 2018 Topps Chrome Base PSA 10 is up 66% over the last 30 days.

2. Tyrese Maxey

It’s been tough for Maxey to get playing time behind Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Matisse Thybulle and Shake Milton, but he’s been really good when he’s on the court. The Sixers hold the No. 1 seed in the East, and an endorsement from Joel Embiid for a spot in the playoff rotation could mean good things for the rookie guard.

Maxey’s 2020 Prizm Silver Raw is up 93% over the last 14 days.

1. Jarred Kelenic

One of the top-rated prospects in baseball, Kelenic was called up recently and crushed a home run for his first career hit. He isn’t off to a great start overall, but at age 21 he’s the youngest Mariners player to homer since Adam Jones back in 2006.

His cards in Market Movers are up 53% over the last 30 days with his 2018 Bowman Draft Base PSA 10 up 137% over that same period.
